Mt Rushmore

Well, on our trip across country we stopped at Mt. Rushmore! It was really fascinating and we had a great time! In the gift shop the day we were there, they had a man there that is one of the few remaining workers of Mt. Rushmore. It was great to talk to him and ask him questions, he worked on the mountain for 3 years and knew the sculptor and they even had a Mt. Rushmore baseball team and he gave us one of his baseball cards! The kids loved it! They have some caves in the area too so we took the kids down into some really neat caves. John carried Joey most of the way but towards the end the passageway was getting too narrow and steep so I took Joey out the alternate route and John finished the tour with the older kids.
